Richard M. Schaus
Richard Schaus has been a partner in the Buffalo law firm of Schaus & Schaus LLP since 1986 and concentrates his practice in wills, trusts, and estate administration, residential and commercial real estate, and business formation, purchases and sales, and lease negotiations. Mr. Schaus is admitted to practice before all Courts in the State of New York, including the United States District Court, Western District of New York and the United States Bankruptcy Court, Western District of New York.
Mr. Schaus graduated from Canisius College, summa cum laude, and from the University of Buffalo Law School, cum laude. Richard is a member of the Erie County Bar Association and various Committees of the Bar Association. He also serves as the village attorney, town attorney, and the town prosecutor for North Collins. Mr. Schaus is an active member of the West Side Rowing Club and is a past president.
Barbara A. Schaus
Barbara Schaus joined her brother as partner in the law firm of Schaus & Schaus LLP in 1991 and also practices in the area of wills, trusts, and estate administration, residential and commercial real estate, and business formation. In addition, Barbara handles Medicaid planning, landlord and tenant law, divorces and family law matters. Ms. Schaus is admitted to practice before all Courts in the State of New York, including the United States District Court, Western District of New York and the United States Bankruptcy Court, Western District of New York. Barbara is also licensed in Florida and practices extensively in wills and estate administration for New York and Florida residents.
Ms. Schaus graduated from Canisius College, magna cum laude, and from the University of Buffalo Law School, cum laude. Barbara is a member of the Erie County Bar Association and various Committees of the Bar Association. Ms. Schaus has been employed by the New York State Board of Law Examiners for over twenty years, initially hired as a grader and legal assistant in 1998 and presently holding the position of senior attorney.
Daniel P. Schaus
Daniel Schaus joined his father and aunt as a partner in the Buffalo law firm of Schaus & Schaus LLP in 2019 and is focusing his practice in all areas of litigation, criminal law, and matrimonial law, while also representing clients in wills and estate administration, real estate, and landlord and tenant law. Mr. Schaus is admitted to practice before all Courts in the State of New York, including the United States District Court, Western District of New York.
Mr. Schaus also graduated from Canisius College, cum laude, and from the University of Buffalo Law School. Daniel is a member of the Erie County Bar Association, New York State Bar Association, New York State Defender’s Association, Young Lawyer’s Committee, and various other Committees of the Bar Association. Outside the office, Dan can be found on the basketball court where he referees basketball as a member of the International Association of Approved Basketball Officials (IAABO).
